WHY AM I FEELING STUCK, TENSE?


We get stuck in patterns of poor posture that create chronic muscle shortening and restrictions in your superficial fascia. Fascia is a web-like structure that supports, separates and protects our veins, arteries, muscles and allows muscles to glide over each other. It can be found immediately beneath the skin, around muscles, groups of muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, organs and cells. With poor posture, repetitive actions or trauma such as surgery, it becomes restricted, creating stiffness, reduced flexibility and poor range of movement.

BOWEN AND YOGA TO THE RESCUE!

How? A two-pronged approach - I do some of the work, you do some of the work!

BOWEN THERAPY – when I do some of the work - a cross-fibre body treatment that targets fascia as well as muscles, for relieving mild to moderate pain from muscle tension and fascia restriction. A bit like a massage but done through clothes and specifically targets fascia as well as muscles

YIN YOGA AND GENTLE SOMATIC YOGA – where you do some of the work – these styles of yoga also address stiffness, mild pain and can increase range of movement. I teach you how to do movements to relieve stiffness, soften muscle tension and boost mobility which you can incorporate into your exercise routine

WHY SHOULD I BE INTERESTED IN BETTER RANGE OF MOVEMENT? I’M NOT AN ATHLETE!

If you can get back the full range of movement, you’re far less likely to injure yourself while doing any physical activity
