HOW DOES BOWEN THERAPY WORK?

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The cross-fibre moves are done either at the origin, insertion or belly of a muscle, where receptors are located, informing the nervous system about the state of tension in the tissue such as with a muscle that’s contracted or in spasm. Bowen moves change the stimulus received by the nervous system, breaking the muscle spasm loop, easing tension in the muscles treated.
Many Bowen moves are done over acupuncture points and meridians so can clear stagnant energy in the body, promoting over all better organ health.
There are specific Bowen moves for lymphatic drainage helping us release lactic acid after exercise, relieve oedema and boost general health

BOWEN THERAPY BENEFITS
My tagline line for my Bowen Therapy & Yoga business is Relaxing, remedial, restorative
Bowen Therapy is a relaxing treatment as it’s done without much chatter, with quiet unobtrusive music in the background, with slow, gentle moves that move the client into rest and repair mode
It’s a remedial treatment in that it uses cross fibre moves to gently and safely release tension in muscles, ligaments and tendons.
It’s safe for all ages, from babies through to the terminally ill. It’s non-invasive so teenagers are generally relaxed enough to enjoy a treatment as it’s done through light clothing with the minimum of fuss to release muscular tension and soothe anxiety
And finally it’s a restorative treatment in that you feel really relaxed, restored and softer, more fluid in your movements after a treatment. Many clients have a deep sleep the night of a treatment and generally feel re-set.
