3. SEATED MASSAGE
Relax + unwind the upper back, arms, hands, neck + shoulders with a short and sweet treatment blending Bowen Therapy and Acupressure Massage. Done through clothing on a specially designed chair (see photo gallery). Price on application. Please enquire at info@susieorr.com
ABOUT
I qualified as a Therapeutic Massage Therapist in 1993 and have subsequently studied Sports & Remedial Massage, Clinical Aromatherapy, Bowen Therapy and various styles of Yoga. In 2022, I'm adding mat pilates to my list of qualifications to teach a blend of somatics and pilates, Somalates ♡
Working as a hands-on therapist for three decades, poor posture and a just-get-stuck-in attitude to heavy work around the house and garden left me with some back issues. Everyday tasks such as treating clients, exercising, doing yoga, vacuuming, pushing a shopping trolley, gardening and cleaning created pain. Some days I couldn’t stand up straight and had to cancel work. To be able to function in a very basic way, I tried various physical therapies + styles of yoga
The turning point came when I incorporated Gentle Somatic Yoga(R) into my daily life – without a doubt the movements improved my posture which relieved my pain. I found my passion for sharing this nervous-system soothing style of yoga which I love sharing with my students to relieve their mild pain + stiffness.
I addition to feeling better than I did ten years ago, I'm saving a small fortune in physical therapy fees!
MY PRIVATE SESSIONS and MONTHLY GROUP CLASSES are influenced by my background as a Massage + Bowen Therapist with a focus on therapeutic movement combined with core strengthening, breathing exercises, mindfulness techniques and meditation for a holistic approach to enhanced health and wellbeing
